Named after a blood-thirsty goddess and raised by a troupe of traveling thespians, Los Angeles-based film & creative director, Tanit Sakakini, shapes what ABC’s City Line calls “elegantly irreverent” magical worlds.
Sakakini works with brands, agencies, and other artists to develop ideas and give them form. The videos and stills on this website are projects she’s scripted, directed, or photographed. They’ve appeared in publications including Time, Newsweek, and Fast Company, and received distinguished recognition from Communication Arts, the Telly Awards, and the New York Photo Awards, among others.
She directed her first videos for Fidelity Investments while an undergrad at Tufts University, and was introduced to the manic/magnetic world of filmmaking, working for Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule. Equal portions visual artist and writer, Sakakini worked in advertising as a copywriter for agencies including Landor and Euro RSCG, and some years earlier, won a purebred Arabian horse in a high school essay contest – her best-loved accolade to date.
