7 Best Corporate Photographers in New York

BY Ian Richards 7 October 2022
Corporate Published, Listicle

New York, New York, it’s a wonderful town. Though the prominent city has not been the nation’s capital since 1790, or even the capital of its home State, it remains a twentieth and twenty-first century frontrunner for Novum Caput Mundi—a global center of culture, finance, and media.

For many, New York begins as a new beginning. With as many as 800 distinct spoken languages, it is not only the world’s most linguistically diverse city but also houses the largest foreign-born population of any city, with 3.2 million of its residents born outside the United States. These workers, innovators, and leaders represent the composite strength of many nations, histories, and cultures working together and driving each other to new heights. As of 2022, the New York metro area has an estimated gross metropolitan product of over $2.1 trillion, ranking it the foremost in the world.

New York corporate photographers capture a ‘city of moments’ in a megalopolis of impossibly fast walkers, and help keep a human face on the many workings of this urban jungle.

At Wonderful Machine, corporate photography “broadly encompasses the world of business, often showing people dressed in business attire in business environments doing business-like things. This can be shot in reportage, lifestyle, portrait, or conceptual styles.”

Whether it’s for a commercial or editorial project, New York corporate photographers are as good as they come. We’ve done the research. Here is a list of Wonderful Machine’s selections for the seven best corporate photographers in New York.

Walter Smith

Walter Smith is a New York City-based photographer specializing in Corporate, Fine Art, Kids, Lifestyle, Portraiture, Social Documentary, and Travel. He writes,

I started out with my first camera when I was 14 years old. Discovering that I could talk to strangers with my camera was like finding my creative soul.

Because I believe that the way to tell a memorable story is to make it personal, I am always looking for what’s intimate in the moment — what will stand out. The secret to how I work is both simple and complex all at once. It’s both the camera and the conversation that make a memorable image.

His clients include: Google, IBM, Goldman Sachs, US Census 2020, Brooks Running, Monument School, Aetna, Microsoft Office, Hilton Eforea Spa, UPS, UPS Industrial, The Coco-Cola Company, PepsiCo, Alkermes, M&T Bank, Provident Bank, CDM NY, Temple Health, Johnson&Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen Pharmaceutical, Avery Dennison, Manpower Starkbucks, Amway, Medtronic, The College Board, H&R Block, Accenture, Guggenheim Partners, and Maryland Oil.
