Your network is your net-worth, and when Nick Richards, Creative Director at Vancouver ad agency Will, needed images for Level Furnished Living LA’s new website, he knew exactly who to call. Vancouver photographer Albert Law had worked with Nick on similar projects and was eager to get back to one of his favorite cities—Los Angeles.
Level Furnished Living, an all-inclusive property that features luxury apartment-style rooms, operates among the city bustle and Art Deco façades of Los Angeles. For their recent grand opening, Level wanted to showcase their luxurious apartments and flawless service. This included showing off the urban oasis’s key property features and amenities, from a rooftop swim to a drink in their sun-kissed lounge pavilion.
The most important aspect we wanted to emphasize was people interacting with one another to show context and life within the space.
After some preproduction objectives such as meeting with the marketing director, researching the property, and conducting client/sales discussions, Albert created hand drawn story boards to outline highlights of the perspectives they wished to accomplish.
When it came time to shoot, Albert had to be fast and flexible. He had just three days with his models, and even in sunny LA, weather is always a variable to account for when shooting outside. Albert used an app called Sun Seeker, which showed where the sun would be on location at any given time. He had also mapped out his shots by indoor versus outdoor so he could accomplish each at the best possible time.
At the end of the shoot, Level Furnished Living treated Albert to a few extra days in the hotel to stay and enjoy LA.
The one-bedroom suite felt more like a home than a hotel room. It was very well designed with a great staff of fun and hardworking people.
Albert’s images are being used on Level’s freshly launched website, as well as on the hotel’s social media. Albert has received great feedback, and is happy to have shown Level off as the inn place in LA for a relaxing stay and suite dreams.
