Analytics: November 2022

Our overall website saw 9.0K Users in November (slightly outpacing our historical average) and our Find Photographers page Users remained flat at 1.0K.

Reports Snapshot

The Reports snapshot in Google Analytics 4 shows traffic overview, including data about the total number of Users, New users, and their Average engagement time on our website.

We noticed a modest increase in our traffic in November over our previous 6-month average. The total number of Users on our website in November was 9.0K, with 8.5k being New users. The average engagement time in November was down slightly, to just over 2 minutes. The average engagement time represents the total time people spend on our website divided by the number of Users.

Demographics Overview

The Demographics overview contains information about Users’ countries, cities, gender, language, etc.

The top five countries our Users were coming from in November are the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, and Australia, with nearly 60% from the United States.

The top five cities where our Users live are New York, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Traffic Acquisition

The Traffic acquisition report shows how Users found our website.

In November, our top traffic sources were Organic Search, Direct, Email, Organic Social, and Referral.

• Organic Search represents the traffic from search engines, such as Google.
• Direct shows Users who typed wonderfulmachine.com directly into their browser (or who keep us bookmarked).
• Email refers to traffic from our Mailchimp marketing campaigns and the individual marketing emails we send out.
• Organic Social means traffic that comes from people who first find us on one of our social media platforms and then click to our site.
• Referral means that they could have come from any number of other websites that happen to link to us for various reasons.

Photographer Search Page

We recently began tracking metrics for our Find Photographers page. Over time, we’ll work up to a 12-month average that will help us compare our current month with our recent historical average.

This month, we had 1000 people use our photographer search, each averaging just over 4 page views. A page view could be a single search or it could mean that the user scrolled though multiple pages in one search (a page equals 25 search results). The majority of Users who searched for photographers were from the United States (over 65%), with Croatia, the United Kingdom, France, and Canada rounding out the top five.

Blog and Static Pages

Our blogs and our static pages provide valuable information for our users and they also provide searchable content that attracts visitors to our site. The articles on our two blogs — Published and Intel — were viewed a total of 36K times. Other pages had 88K views, which is down -6% over last month.
