At Wonderful Machine, we’ve been producing photo shoots for a long time, and we’ve had a chance to work with excellent crew from all over the world. In addition to the ones we’ve worked with ourselves, we’ve also collected a list of referrals of hair stylists, makeup artists, assistants, location scouts and more (26 categories in all) that we’d like to share with you.

There’s a public version of the search, which anyone can see. We also offer an expanded list of crew for a small subscription fee, which includes…

• Expanded access to our global database of clients, photographers, agents, and resources.
• Free research when you can’t find what you’re looking for in our directory.

We’ve also developed some useful ways to search, bookmark, and share the information on our search pages. The search bar allows you to filter crew by location, specialty, or name. With your free or paid account, you can favorite any profile by simply clicking on the logo or head shot. You can then filter for your favorites by clicking on the circle icon next to the word CREW.

While the favoriting feature allows you to keep track of a large, permanent list of crew for your own reference, you can separately use the Shortlist feature to collect a smaller, temporary list to share with colleagues when building your team.

To build a new list to share, first clear out your previous list by selecting Shortlist in the Specialty menu, click FIND, and then click on the orange names so they revert to blue. To start a new search, click on the word CREW, which will reset the search. Then, click on the names that you’d like to add to your Shortlist, filter for Shortlist, and click the SHARE button, which will generate a link you can share with anyone (even if your colleague doesn’t have an account, they’ll be able to see all of the profiles you share).
