Amanda Hankerson and Lacey Criswell of Hunt + Capture know that creatives get a lot of mail to sort through, so when creating their latest print promo, they decided to make something utterly fun and hands-on for clients. We’re talking scavenger hunts, games, and even fully functioning mobile lenses. Using photographs from a Dreamworks and Fuhu event they had covered, Hunt + Capture worked with designer Danielle Zenk-Tills to distill the dreaminess and curiosity of the children’s world into beautiful and multifunctional print promos.
Hunt + Capture decided that their photos for the Dreamworks and Fuhu Nabi Dreamtab (a children’s tablet for creativity and learning), would set the perfect tone for this round of print promos. Hunt + Capture worked with Dreamworks and Fuhu to create behind-the-scenes lifestyle photos while the company welcomed the Nabi Dreamtab to the world on television.
The campaign had a modern day little rascals theme to inspire the next generation of creative heroes.
The team says they were inspired by Highlights Magazine for the actual promo design, both having fond memories of how fun and interactive the magazines were for them as kids. They brought this sense of fun to their promos first, with a scavenger hunt, which you can check out below.
They kept up the fun with a “spot the difference” game next. Is it any wonder they won a Communication Arts award with a photo so packed with whimsy and play?
And to bring it all together, the team included an actual macro lens that can strap around phones, turning a normal camera lenses into a magnified one (seen below).
Here’s a look at the promos all laid out and packaged!
