Indulge: Wonderful Machine Ad in Lürzer’s Archive Germany

BY Wonderful Machine 28 December 2010

Our ads have been on an international tour, and the latest stop is Germany. The country’s edition of Lürzer’s Archive featured an image by Germany-based fashion photographer Martin Bauendahl. For this image, we chose the German text “Laß dich verwöhnen,” which means something along the lines of “indulge yourself.”

This photo was originally shot for the online fashion magazine Teaser, founded by Thomas Meyer. Meyer presented Martin and his team with a vision for a shoot that would represent commonly held ideas about models. Martin listed some examples: “they don’t eat, they take drugs, they are rich, etc.” They discussed the possible situations with stylist Hendrik Schaulin and put together an exciting series of images.

Breaking the stereotypes

I asked Martin if there was some kind of big idea behind the photos; an ironic analysis of how the fashion industry transforms people, perhaps, or a sophisticated satire of popular prejudices about the field.

To be honest… it’s more for funny images.

And that’s ok by us.
