New York-based photographer Jennifer May shot Chef Chris Vergara for the cover of the Spring 2018 edition of Edible Westchester.
It was just me and the chef, keeping a low profile, quietly searching in one of his secret mushroom patches.
She followed along as Chris foraged in the woods for ingredients: ramps, wild onions, garlic mustard, and wild mushrooms.
For this shot, the biggest challenge was that I was squatting in the bushes surrounded by poison ivy and ticks. These are the perils of shooting in nature.
