Mexico City-based photographer Lindsay Lauckner Gundlock was approached by Monocle magazine to create images for The Monocle Travel Guide to Mexico City. As the principal photographer, Lindsay photographed 120 places around the city, collaborating with a large team that included writers, editors, producers, and designers.
I occasionally freelance for Monocle. They were planning a city guide for Mexico City (the 32nd city in their travel guide series) and I was fortunate enough to be asked to do the majority of the photography for the book. They refer to me as the “Chief Photographer” in the book credits. As you can imagine – it was pretty hectic. I was shooting almost constantly in February and finished up a few places in March and April. I had a fantastic assistant, Dahlia Sosa Hernández, who helped keep me very organized.
