Noah Willman // Women’s Running Magazine

Washington, D.C.-based photographer Noah Willman photographed the cover of the June 2018 issue of Women’s Running magazine.

Women’s Running found me online and reached out via email for the shoot. We had 4 hours with the subjects, Jen Golbeck and her 5 dogs, and were looking to get 5-6 unique options in 2 locations. We had a rough shot list but just let things happen as they would since we weren’t going to be able to get all the dogs to do what we wanted at the same time. The hardest part was getting the running shot with all the dogs for the cover. We needed to have all the dogs visible and running in the right direction but still close enough together that it would work for a vertical cover. It took a lot of tweaking to get the dogs to run how we wanted but eventually, we got the shot we wanted.
