As the holidays wrap up and everyone prepares for the new year, we are taking a look back at our outreach efforts in the final month of 2017.
Julia began the month of December leading the Brand Outreach efforts. With a total of 341 outreach attempts she made 15 connections, most of which she will be following-up with in the New Year. She has a production capabilities call scheduled with Eric Pokorny, Interactive Content Manager at Starbucks, to elaborate on our photographer directory and shoot production services. Julia also connected with Amos Klausner, Art Director for the US Creative Team at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco. Amos asked for portrait photographers in a variety of US cities and Julia provided photographer recommendations according to specialty and location. Julia is looking forward to the new year and new opportunities and connections to be had with prospective clients.
For the month of December, Sankha shifted his focus away from brands and advertising agencies to publications, creating a methodical system through which we can regularly add new magazines and update existing ones in our database. The strategy is more complex for publications compared to brands and agencies, and Sankha had to dig through parent companies and find magazines through more organic searches.
In the end, Sankha added 227 new companies to our database, of which 162 were publications, 39 were brands, 19 were agencies, and 7 were resources. He added 368 new people to our database, of which 198 people were for the aforementioned new companies, while 188 contacts were to update existing companies in our database.
Sankha also assisted our executive producers on specific research projects targeting both domestic and international brands, while maintaining our email lists for promotional campaigns.
Associate Producer Claire focused on agencies, contacting 264 existing prospects to get a better sense of their photography needs and promote our member photographer base. All in all she managed to start up 18 conversations.
One phone call conversation came from a senior art director at fortytwoeightynine who mentioned that she was having difficulty finding drone pilots in Iowa for an upcoming project in the spring. She mentioned that they were at the point of frustration where they were just going to fly over the space and have a “friend” do it so the call couldn’t have come at a better time! Due to the specific certifications required for this production, Claire searched through both external and internal databases to find five licensed drone operators to recommend.
Lastly, Matt returned his focus to New York City and was able to land a number of phone calls and meetings for the month of January. He made 154 phone calls and sent 167 emails returning 11 connections with agencies and brands. He is expecting that the New Year and newly approved budgets will have the big fish biting in January.
