Our Publications Research/Outreach team started 2017 off with some great connections! In the midst of preparing for the first portfolio event of the year and working on new consulting projects, Julian and I collectively added 30 new clients to our database, specifically focusing on filling in the gaps within our U.S. based and international newspapers. We also dove into adding more international publications to focus on connecting our international photographers with publications in their area.
Associate Producer Meli Ojeda talks to a client about our services.
Our team got responses from clients who are interested in learning more about our photographers and have questions regarding our stock request tool. For the first part of the month, I had Julian on my team before he switched over to the Agency team. Julian had an extensive conversation with Linda Douthat at Porthole Cruise Magazine about stock photography and offered some solutions regarding multiple ways to reach out regarding stock, including our custom stock research.
Julian also received some nice feedback from Melissa Miller at Imagination Publishing, who’s familiar with our photographer directory.
Hi Julian, Thanks for reaching out.
Wonderful Machine is a blessing, so helpful!
I received a response from the editor at Back Street Heroes, a UK-based automotive publication. While it didn’t generate any new work (yet), it did give us a laugh!
Fraid we don’t need any snappers at the mo’, sorry!
One of the greatest things about our outreach process is that we’ve been able to formulate lasting relationships with clients we’ve connected with in the past. Gizelle Cordo, Photo Director of GQ India, reached out to me to help her find reportage and portraiture photographers in the Maldives and I was also able to connect Gizelle with two of our local Chicago photographers for another shoot in Chicago.
All in all, Julian and I made 80 phone calls, 67 emails that resulted in 31 connections. We’re Looking forward to making more connections in February.
