St. Louis, Missouri-based advertising and editorial photographer Ashley Gieseking celebrated the new year with a festive promo that perfectly compliments her beautiful food/drink and still life work.
Ashley sent out dozens of thoughtful gift boxes to a number of lucky creatives. The gifts, which consist of a mini bottle of Moet Champagne with paper straws, a set of letterpress coasters and raspberry rum balls are not only well made, they are personalized for each recipient with custom cards and one of Ashley’s images on the front. It’s a perfect example of hard work paying off with a beautiful and memorable product.
I asked Ashley why it’s worth it for her to spend the extra time on a detailed, personalized promo:
For the past few years, I’ve put together a little something to say thank you to my clients at the end of the year. It always starts out the same, with me saying “I’m gonna keep it simple this year” – then one thing leads to another and I just can’t help myself.
I love being able to give people something tangible, versus just imagery which they are used to getting all year round. It’s a great way to connect with people we’ve worked with throughout the year and reminding them of my aesthetic in the process never hurts. I sent out to a fairly small group of clients, around 25, so it’s a great chance to do something with a personal touch. I got a wonderful response from clients. People loved the package, a few commenting it was almost too beautiful to consume!
