Print Mailer: Another Happy Customer

Summertime is upon us and we’re celebrating the season with an easy breezy June print promo. Printed once again by our trusty friends at Modern Postcard, June’s promo brings viewers back to their childhood summer vacations—days filled with beach trips, Popsicles and sunshine. We hope the photo we chose brings back happy memories and nostalgic feelings for all our clients. This blissful shot was taken by Norway-based photographer Øivind Haug who was kind enough to fill me in on the photo’s backstory:

This is an image of my daughter Aurora during a summer in Sardinia. She’s six years old at the time and it wasn’t made for any assignment. It was the perfect summer day–bright sun and the whole family gathered on a long sandy beach. Aurora was running around and was thrilled to be able to swim as much as she wanted (we live in Norway and our summers are usually pretty cold). I wanted to make a picture that described the happiness, no worries and an endless summer. I’d asked Aurora if I could take a picture of her, of course she said yes (although I know she’d rather have fun elsewhere on the beach). I tried to give her some direction–see here, there, look up, down, but suddenly she began to laugh at me and my directions. I only got this one shot, a second later she was out in the water again. For me, this picture has a special place in my heart. I am her father and this was a special moment. I often get positive reactions from people who do not know me or Aurora from the picture. I think that they recognize themselves in this photo and the dream of a happy summer.
