Print Mailer: Pugs and Kisses

Tis the season! The season for love laughs, presents, food, family, and, if you’re lucky, a dog (or ten) to play with. For our November print mailer, we chose this spunky image from Sydney-based photographer James Horan, sent out to 2,978 creatives (printed by Modern Postcard) as a little reminder of our services with some Pugs and Kisses on the side. I caught up with James to get the adorable story behind this image:

The image was shot years ago when I worked as a news photographer. It was a cute story about a couple in their 90’s celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. When I got to their house I was blown away by how amazingly colorful it was. They never had any children but they loved little dogs and toys. They couldn’t understand a word I said, between my thick Irish accent, the lady was partially deaf and the gentleman had Alzheimer’s. I gestured to them to sit on the couch, their old snorting pug sat between them and they just laughed and kissed. It was beautiful to see love lasting 70 years.
