Print Mailer: Servin’ Up the Sweet Stuff

BY Wonderful Machine 24 March 2014
Intel, Wonderful Machine News, Published, Wonderful Machine News

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as well as my personal favorite. And although I do love an elaborate spread of bacon, eggs, french toast, hash browns, and the like, nothing beats a fresh bowl of cereal. It’s delicious, quick, and easy… that is, once you make your choice. The cereal aisle can be overwhelming, with so many brands, flavors, and the always-present “healthy or unhealthy?” debate. It’s almost as overwhelming as the vast number of photographers in different locations and specialties worldwide. Which is why, for our March print mailer (printed by Modern Postcard), we settled on this tasty image from Chicago-based photographer Colin Beckett to remind our clients that we’re constantly Servin’ Up the Sweet Stuff. I caught up with Colin to get some background on the image:

The shoot was a personal test that I wanted to do using strobes with a natural light look so that I could stop the motion of the milk splash. The final image is a comp from about 7 different shots that I pieced together elements from each image of milk and cereal.
