What’s more hardcore than a face-painted, heavy metal chef eating udon noodle stir fry? Wonderful Machine, of course! That’s why we chose the below image, shot by Tampa-based photographer Bob Croslin, for our October print mailer. The image was sent out to 2,993 creatives in the US (printed by Modern Postcard) to remind them that when it comes to finding what they’re looking for, We’re Hardcore.
Bob gave us some background information on this unique image:
The image is of a Youtube personality named the Vegan Black Metal Chef. The assignment was for Time magazine and I shot it in Orlando. The shoot didn’t start until 10 pm at night and went until 3 am. The guy is totally committed to the character and my assistant and I suffered through Nordic black metal blaring the entire time. At one point my assistant couldn’t take it any more and remembered he had ear plugs in his car and popped them in. VBMC cooked up some udon noodle stir fry and a vegan smoothie and they were both pretty amazing.
