Client Outreach: January 2020

BY Ashley Vaught 6 February 2020
Intel, Report Card, Client Outreach

After a slightly extended holiday break — thanks to the New Year falling on a Wednesday — we got right back to work and made some serious progress to begin the new decade. Not only did we forge connections with new clients, we also helped a number of our member photographers obtain lucrative assignments.

Our Client Outreach team — consisting of Julia, Bryan, Nadia, Jemma (featured above), Carol, and Natalia — sent out 807 emails to prospective clients and received 55 meaningful replies. Those connections resulted in seven phone calls that we used to promote member photographers. In addition, we added 354 people and 133 companies to our client database.

Below are some of the successes we celebrated this month:

  1. Finn O’Hara was awarded a project for Nestle/Kit-Kat after working with executive producer Craig Oppenheimer to produce an estimate
  2. Emily Andrews was hired by the design firm Champalimaud.
  3. Carolyn Fong was contracted to do a corporate lifestyle shoot for the fintech company Plaid.
  4. Evan Joseph was hired to shoot Hudson Yard’s new “The Edge” observation deck.
  5. Lauren Pusateri was tapped by Tide for a product shoot after working with Craig on an estimate.

While the new year is generally a time for rebirth and optimism, we did learn this month that Photo District News is ceasing to create new content. This company has been an institution in the commercial photography industry since 1980, and its contributions will be missed.
