Los Angeles-based photographer Robert Gallagher recently completed a portrait shoot with Chilean actress Fernanda Urrejola who recently announced her addition to Netflix’s Narcos cast opposite Diego Luna.
The project came about when the Art Director from Ya magazine (a supplement of Chilean newspaper El Mercurio and the largest circulating womens magazine in Chile) found me through a search for photographers in LA.
They needed to photograph a very famous Chilean actress who’d recently moved to Los Angeles, and they needed it that week for a feature and a cover. Not until later did I discover that she’d also been cast in the upcoming season of Narcos. As a huge fan of that show, I was excited to hear that!
It was a good fit because Ya magazine likes to keep a very authentic look with their portraits and they even have a policy of no retouching. They even told me
“We do like glamour, but a natural one. That is why I liked your photos, they have that natural unpretentious spontaneous elegance that is so hard for me to find.”
