Last month we worked with Roy Ritchie, one of our talented Detroit photographers, on an estimate for a Ford Motor Company campaign. We successfully negotiated with Ford’s creative team on creative fees, licensing fees, and production expenses. We handled all of the pre-production and headed out to Austin to produce the shoot on-site. Not only did this allow for continuity in the production but it also gave Roy the opportunity to focus all of his energy on making great pictures.
Negotiations can get messy and a lot of art buyers want to deal with a rep for that reason. Let us be the bad guy. That way you can look like the easygoing photographer that they all love to work with, and we can be all business.
We can also be a profit center for you. You can typically bill producers at 750.00 to 1000.00/day, and with us at 75.00/hr. in-house and 750.00/day on-site, which leaves a lot of potential markups to put in your pocket.
With our extensive product database, resources, and photographers’ network, we’re able to produce a shoot quickly and efficiently. For the Ford campaign, we were able to give our Austin-based photographer Michael Thad Carter a call to see if he could suggest a good assistant that he trusted in his neck of the woods. That’s how we hooked up with Matt Conant for the Austin leg of the shoot.
