Meet Wonderful Machine Executive Producer Craig Oppenheimer! In light of his 12 years on the team, we thought it was time we get a glimpse into Craig’s work, hobbies, and recent achievements. Aside from having collaborated with some of the most influential brands and agencies in the world — including Nike, Starbucks, and Target — Craig is a proud father and a triathlete.
Craig’s work with Wonderful Machine includes consulting with photographers on estimating and production, as well as collaborating with agencies, brands, and creative teams to handle all aspects of creative projects, from cost consulting and pre-production through on-site logistics and retouching.
A graduate of Towson University, Craig majored in mass communications with a focus on marketing, and a minor in art with an emphasis on photography. Prior to working with Wonderful Machine, Craig was an art buyer for Bank of America’s internal advertising agency, managing a large inventory of photography assets used for direct mail campaigns. He also worked for Harte Hanks and TBC (Trahan Burden Charles) in the Philadelphia and Baltimore areas, and as a freelance assistant to photographers.
While his roots are in cycling, Craig’s first multi-sport event was a duathlon relay where he raced on a team with his father and sister. Since then, he’s completed multiple sprint triathlons, olympic distance triathlons, 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, and most recently a Half Ironman.
Following a 24-week training plan, Craig completed the Atlantic City 70.3 Half Ironman — a long-distance triathlon where he swam 1.2 miles, rode 56 miles, and ran 13.1 miles in 6:01:47.
When he’s not on the job or competing in triathlons, Craig enjoys spending time with his eight-year-old son — going on adventures, riding bikes, camping, and exploring in their South Philadelphia neighborhood.
I’m a vegetarian, an early riser, and I’m happiest with an active and action packed day.
Craig is also the founder of Mural Miles, a running and art education group, as well as Schuylkill River Creatives, a monthly networking cycling group for the creative industry in Philadelphia.
While I really enjoy the challenge of races, I’m more passionate about finding quality time with my son and friends, and use fitness as a means of developing social connections. You can find me and senior producer Bryan Sheffield on epic cycling adventures throughout the entire year.
Stay tuned to learn more about the team and their lives outside of Wonderful Machine!
