We’re off to the races in 2021, with ten stock requests coming in from various publications, brands, and agencies through the month of January.
Three of these came from Conde Nast Traveler, who is one of our regular “requesters.” They typically reach out to us to source Travel, Landscape, Architecture, Interior, Adventure and Food photography and this month they were sourcing images shot in Thailand and Pakistan. Occasionally they will also request Product, Fashion or Conceptual images and this month they contacted us for images on the theme of neon.
The other requests we shared with photographers were from National Geographic Books, who were looking for a cover image; Travel & Leisure, who were seeking for images of New Zealand; and Der Spiegel, who urgently needed images of the December 6 siege of the capitol. As sometimes happens, Boston Magazine reached out to us in order to obtain a specific image from one of our photographers and we put them in touch.
This month, we also managed a request from AAA, who licensed images for their February issue from member photographers Andrew Faulk and Rachid Dahnoun. Toward the end of Jaunary, a request for a variety of portraits came in from VSA Partners; our producer, Craig, is currently sorting out the details.
We also had to pass on a couple of stock requests since their budgets were too low for the usage they were requesting. We always try to balance the needs of the client with the needs of our photographers, taking into account the budget and licensing before sharing any request with photographers.
