Copenhagen, Denmark-based photographer Ulf Svane recently worked on a food and travel piece for Departures Magazine, an American quarterly lifestyle magazine, that focuses on the city of Copenhagen’s quaint charm and scrumptious cuisine.
What was involved in planning/preproduction?
Departures Magazine arranged the location list with the various restaurants, but I had the pleasure of adding some city sceneries to the list.
What were the shoots like?
I’ve visited a good selection of high-end restaurants around the world, but I was so overwhelmed by the kitchen in Noma. Being able to experience all these super talented chefs working together to perfect even the smallest detail is a must-see, a work of art in the making.
What was your overall impression of the shoot?
I’ve been following the cafe/dining scene in Copenhagen thought my work as a food photographer over the last years and its always so inspiring to visit new projects and see how it develops and overall see how the whole nordic food identity evolves over time.
