Week three of Wonderful Machine’s Instagram Live show, “Unfiltered,” brings Angelo Merendino to the fold. The Cleveland-based freelancer is a natural conversationalist, making him the ideal guest for our series. A former touring musician, Angelo has been in the creative world all his life. On Tuesday, May 12, he sat down with us to talk about his former career and how he transitioned to the world of photography.
We also talked about what Angelo has been up to during the past few months, even publishing some of his work on the day of the interview. The Midwesterner talked about how he uses his photography as therapy, admitting that he’s not the easiest person to be around when he can’t take pictures. But, fortunately, he’s gotten out into his neighborhood and has gotten some really captivating shots of his COVID-affected community.
Angelo has continued to create black-and-white imagery on his medium format film camera, and you can see the rest of his work on his website. To hear Angelo go in-depth about the image above and others from this project, take a look at the interview!
