Unfiltered: IG Live Interview with Chona Kasinger

BY Will Brown 10 July 2020
Published, Instagram Live

Our ninth episode of “Unfiltered” featured Seattle-based photographer Chona Kasinger. She’s been featured before on our client blog. For the interview, we focused on her most recent work, beginning lightheartedly with the documentation of her newest baking recipes.

Chona also described the CHAZ, Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (recently renamed CHOP or Capital Hill Occupied Protest), that she photographed for an article by Eater Seattle. The article and Chona’s photography focused on the free food resources available within the autonomous zone.

Chona also talked about her life as a photographer in Seattle during COVID, one of the first hotspots in the country. She also described a New York Times article for which she shot for the images early on during the outbreak in Seattle.

We look forward to continuing our semi-weekly IG Live conversations every-other Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. If you can’t view the discussion live, check our YouTube page.
