Week five means Ian Tuttle on “Unfiltered,” and the San Francisco-based photographer was a delightful interview. The father of two — including a five-week-old — has been busy as all get out during lockdown, raising his young family while also making sure to stay photographically active.
One way Ian combines family time with photography time is by taking his young daughter to a nearby park, one that features some stunning vistas and a gorgeous look at the Bay Area. Make sure to check out those shots toward the end of our interview!
We also discussed his recent personal project which we published about a month back, a series titled “Social Distance Portraits.” As the subjects sat, Ian — a supremely thoughtful individual — asked them what their biggest COVID-related hopes and fears were while shooting some compelling imagery (at a safe distance, of course!).
Ian has since stopped the project for safety reasons, but not before getting a chance to speak with new people, a passion of his that obviously isn’t as feasible these days. And if you watch the interview, you’ll get a sense of Ian’s ability to connect with everyone he meets.
We look forward to continuing our weekly IG Live conversations every Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. If you can’t view the discussion live, check the YouTube recordings of our “Unfiltered” conversations.
