The fourteenth instalment of IG Live saw Nashville editorial and commercial photographer William DeShazer speaking with me, Wonderful Machine associate photo editor Jen Warren. We chatted about what he loves about music, how he is keeping motivated, and what he has been working on during COVID.
Since he moved to Nashville from Louisville years ago, William has reaped the benefits of Nashville’s impressive vinyl record market, its music scene, and the opportunity to shoot local singer songwriter Mickey Guyton (shown below).
William recently finished a product shoot for a new client who really liked the bourbon images on his website.
The project took place with a successful two-day shoot utilizing a small crew. William got to exercise his post-production and retouching skills for this job and is looking forward to doing more product work. The shoot was successful and the client was happy.
William has also started a podcast called The ReEdit.
Photography has always been my passion and I was fortunate enough to turn that passion into a career. I spent over 10 years working in newspapers across America. Now, after five years of editorial work I’ve made roots in Nashville, TN and am tackling commercial work. I got to know a variety of photographers along the way, and we bonded over our shared passion for this craft. We continue to push each other as we embark on new creative endeavors. As my career continues, my community of photographers grows.
