Wade Griffith shoots Triumph Bancorp’s Dallas Office

BY Rachael Brink 2 October 2020
Published, Photographer Spotlight

In January 2020, Dallas-based photographer Wade Griffith was hired through The Infinite Agency to photograph Triumph Bancorp’s newly remodeled offices. Triumph Bancorp, a financial services company headquartered in Dallas, wanted to refresh its website with photos of its new office space.

To capture the shots that the client requested, Wade had to shoot on multiple floors of the building. This can be a time-consuming process since the photographer had to spend time setting up his equipment at each new location.

A shoot like this teaches you how to manage your time well. We had ten shots to get done in a workday with a lot of moving pieces and parts. So, it’s good to stay on top of how long each shot is taking throughout the day.

In addition to having multiple locations, Triumph Bancorp wanted to have their employees model for the photos. Wade had to convey to the employees how he wanted them to pose so that the images would come out looking natural as though it were just a normal workday.

The people in the photos were actual office employees, so I was directing them and learning how to get them in the best position for each shot.

After a few test shots, the photographer was able to reposition the employees and his lights to ensure he was getting the best shots possible. Wade shot tethered, but by the end of the day the iPad’s batteries were zapped.

The iPad that we were viewing images on ran out of batteries on the last shot, so we ran out of luck there, but otherwise it was a fairly smooth shoot.

Once the shoot ended, there was quite a lot of work to do in post-production. Even though Wade used Profoto B1 strobes to light some of the rooms, the photographer still had to fix the tinted lighting and color casts from windows and interior office lights in post-production.

Production is fairly heavy and includes color correction, white balance, lens distortion correction, removal of unwanted objects such as exit signs and smoke detectors, plus replacement of objects such as window exposures and TV screens.

Ultimately, Wade’s final photos impressed the client and the agency. Wade has already been hired back by the client for another shoot of a local bank, TBK Bank.
