A few months ago, we ran a successful targeted ad campaign on Facebook, so we thought we’d go that route again for the month of July! This time, we featured a fantastic photo from Minneapolis-based portraiture and outdoors photographer Jonathan Chapman, overlaid with our search tagline “Find What You’re Looking For.”
Jonathan’s studio manager, John, was kind enough to send us this background information on the image:
The image you have expressed interest in was from a shoot for Bicycling Magazine that was featured in a segment called “Know How / Big Picture.” We set out at first light with one rider to capture a few well-traveled bike routes in Minneapolis that just so happened to be bathed in beautiful morning light.
The ad ran for the last week in July and was targeted toward advertising and editorial clients in the US and Canada, ages 21-60. In the end, it reached 67,655 users and had 1,256 website clicks. After looking at our analytics, it seems that the ad had a significant impact on our overall traffic and clicks to individual photographer websites. We’ll call that a win! Check out the final ad as it appeared on Facebook below.
And here’s the full resolution image so you can get a better look. Thanks for sharing, Jonathan!
We’re often asked if Facebook and other social media outlets are viable options for advertising. The answer is absolutely yes! Think about it: how many people do you know that log onto a social media site every day? The advantage to advertising on Facebook, in particular, is that people often list their interests, occupations, locations, and more… so it’s very easy to reach a specific, targeted audience. Most social media ads also don’t have a minimum amount—you can spend anywhere from $5 to $5 million. With options like that, the possibilities are endless.
As always, please feel free to reach out if you’d like to hear more. Until next month!
