In Bainbridge Island, Washington:
Seattle lifestyle photographer Cameron Karsten had a recent assignment that took him to the raw and remote California Lost Coast. This largely undisturbed piece of shore is as welcoming as it is perilous, and one of the wildest and beautiful places you can imagine. Cameron and some friends struggled carrying their 80lb backpacks as they hiked to their campsite in the heat. His team spent 6 days and 5 nights off the grid, surfing and connecting to the wilderness. Cameron was able to produce images so parallel to their experience that it made the hardships worth it and has pried himself away from the wilderness to share these images with us. In Southampton, New Jersey:
On the other side of the country, lifestyle and portraiture photographer Frank Apollonio lives in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey and was interested in capitalizing on utilizing his new motion camera. He decided to make a mini-documentary on the cranberry bog down the road from him.
It’s a passion project for me. I love where I live and learning about what people do. Especially with something as beautiful as cranberry harvesting.
The owners of the bog were thrilled and Frank was able to shoot with ease. The documentary will be shown at the annual farmer’s holiday party. Frank is also in contact with Ocean Spray about possible collaborations and promotions as well.

In Glendale, California:
When portariture photographer Christina Gandolfo was 12 she discovered her mother’s diary which was filled with stories involving her childhood best friend and their adventures on Lake Ontario. Christina’s mother, Mary Ann, and her best friend Ann, had not seen each other in almost 60 years and inspired Christina to leave her sunny LA home and make a trip to Jefferson County, NY. She wanted to help her mother track down her childhood home and subsequently, reunite her with her Ann. Her project “Heritage” pays witness to a sisterhood between these two women that proves neither time nor distance has the power to weaken their friendship.
Christina documented Mary Ann and Ann’s friendship on Stony Island, where Ann’s family maintains a rustic cottage. The most rewarding part of the project for Christina was seeing her mother truly happy in her later years.
