Jon Enoch is a London-based photographer who was recently approached by the ECB (The England and Wales Cricket Board, for all our non-UK readers) to revamp the match day programs. These programs are available for sale as spectators enter the cricket grounds, and the ECB was hoping to revamp them to be more unique and a better souvenir of the day. Enter Jon’s photography skills.
In terms of creative direction, I was given quite a loose rein – the images simply had to have players’ eyes to the camera and they had to be impactful. The main challenge was the time. Access to the players was extremely limited – we had two players and two different tops at any one time: shooting six separate setups in around 15 minutes. The shoots were spread over two days but player access was probably one hour in total.
