Our beloved publicity director, blogger and man-about-town Neil Binkley has decided to strike out on his own as a freelance marketing consultant to photographers and other creatives. We will all miss him. It’s safe to say that our company would not exist at all if not for Neil’s inspiration, determination, sense of humor and hard work. All of us here at Wonderful Machine wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. If you’d like to keep in touch with Neil, you can reach him at [email protected].
Taking over for Neil at the blogger desk is our new recruit, Asad Haider. Asad split his time growing up in the very similar towns of State College, PA and Karachi, Pakistan. He is a recent graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Cultural Criticism and Theory; focusing on literary theory and history, and their application to popular culture. (Asad is probably a lot smarter than you, but he has promised to type slowly.) After spending the past year writing film and music criticisms, Asad has discovered his true calling – connecting with our photographers and other industry professionals through the Wonderful Machine blog, press releases, social networking sites, and our member newsletter!
Asad will also be expanding our blog to include original reporting and interviews. Here’s a personal message from him: “Hello Wonderful Machine readers. I’ve just joined the team to help shape the future of this blog. I’ll be writing here on a regular basis to keep you up to date on the latest stories about our photographers, and news and commentary about what’s exciting in the industry. I’m looking forward to putting my zeal for writing to work on this blog, and I’m especially eager to start a dialogue with all of you. You can email me at [email protected], or reach us on Twitter (twitter.com/wonderflmachine) or Facebook (facebook.com/wonderfulmachine)—and by all means, leave comments on our blog posts to tell us what you think.”
