Cathlin is a Photographer and Director based in Austin, Texas who loves photographing people, and you get the sense that her portraits are challenging you with an achingly beautiful question about life you can’t put into words. (Either that or they’re playing up something funny!) She’s inspired by shadows and light, that kinetic energy you can feel on your skin, and a sentimental longing that connects us all. Cathlin is a mama to two children who are often depicted in her photographs. Cathlin takes the photographs that don’t look staged. The in-between moments. The funny inside jokes. The commercial photography that doesn’t look over-produced and over-lit. Her sweet spot comes from observing how people naturally act and move, and directing them to “do more of that”. She grew up on a lake in Iowa, and her adventure heart never quit those big open skies, which is how she ended up in Texas. Cathlin came to UT for grad school and fell in love with Texas. It felt like home. Since she lived in Austin in the 90s, she considers herself an honorary Texan. She enjoys surfing whenever possible, which is almost never (land-locked in Texas). Her friends call her brave and scrappy, and her work weird. She thinks they should get out more.
Liezl, a fearless dreamer and eternal hustler, traces her adventurous spirit to childhood battles and her father’s inspiring poem, “The man who thinks he can.” From the Namib Desert to the bustling streets of London, the wild terrains of the Okavango Delta and living in New York for almost a decade Liezl’s journey is a testament to her unwavering belief in triumph. Rooted in South African resilience, her photography illuminates the strength of those who fought for freedom. Her lens has captured campaigns for global giants like Nike, Converse, H&M, and Polo, echoing the convergence of her mother’s artistry and her father’s entrepreneurial mindset. Residing between Atlanta and New York, Liezl continues to confront challenges without hesitation, embodying her favorite quote: “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”
Magdalena captures a youthful energy, spontaneity and authentic sense of fun. She shoots all the time, carrying a camera on her shoulder and preferring to be part of the moment, placing her lens in the middle of it all. Her early personal work, in which Magdalena documented the lives of her friends emerging from the skate and metal music scenes, reveals her willingness to challenge accepted norms for a female photographer. In her effort to explore complex topics, she documents diverse groups of people in diverse settings. From transgender skate crews, to cowboys in South Central, Wosinska brings her eye to settings that are thought-provoking, beautiful, and at times even controversial, always inspiring the viewer to abandon passivity and question what they are seeing.

As an artist, as a photographer— as a man— as a Black man — I contemplate— what is it I want my audience to understand? What is it I want you to feel? I started as a boy-- capturing the streets of New York. A few rolls of film. At a protest. Growing up taking photographs and working in the darkroom were my alone time. The small piece of glass that I peered through opened up an entire world, and for moments I disappeared. I fell in love with this process. Here today, my camera is a vehicle to tell stories that explore the human condition, and contempory culture. The dialogue between me and the people in front of my lens is very important. I want people to feel comfortable to express and reveal a part of themselves-- creating this environment, making people feel comfortable is a quintessential. I profoundly love this process -- this privilege -- to be an artist and tell stories.
