Hi, I’m Brent.
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Anthropology, while working as both a photographer and editor at The Daily Tarheel. After college I just couldn’t leave the southern part of heaven, so I stuck around, met the love of my life Rebecca, and moved into a little house in the woods.
Now I am supported by Wonderful Machine, and I freelance for clients including TIME, Newsweek, AP, The Wall Street Journal, Popular Mechanics, Anthropologie, Running World, the NFL, Truth Initiative, and advertising agencies while also pursuing personal projects documenting American culture.
My work has been recognized and featured by the National Press Photographer’s Association, The International Photography Awards, the Venice International Photography Contest, Jen Bekman Gallery, Travel Photographer of the Year, Burn Magazine, and the New York Times Lens Blog.
When I’m not busy taking photos and editing, you just might find me wrestling with my Beagahua © (Chihuahua/Beagle mix), making fish tacos, or watching Game of Thrones- sometimes all at once.
