February may have been short a few days, but we saw some great numbers in our web traffic anyway! In February, wonderfulmachine.com brought in a total of 17,214 sessions from 12,414 users. Our bounce rate is up slightly from last month, but there’s a reason for that (and we’ll explain later in the post). Check out our February overview below:
In typical form, the U.S. pulled in the most traffic this month, with a total of 11,172 sessions. The U.K. and Canada followed in second and third place with 986 and 676 sessions, respectively. The Netherlands made an appearance for the first time in our top ten views by location, tying with Italy at 99 sessions each. Take a look at our views by location below:
We also wanted to include something new this month, our top visited pages! This is a great way to see visits and bounce rates for individual pages instead of just looking at the overall average. It’s also nice to see that our landing page and our find photographers page both have bounce rates under 30%, meaning traffic is positive and engaged. Take a look at our top pages below:
Our photographer profiles brought in a total of 17,812 views, meaning each photographer received an average of 24.9 views. From there, our photographers saw a total of 6,217 click-throughs to their websites, meaning an average of 9 clicks per photographer. Ryan Hayslip had the most clicks to his site this month with 31. Kate Benson came in second with 29 clicks, and Mark Katzman was third with 27 clicks. Here are the top ten clicked photographers below:
The Wonderful Machine blog brought in some great traffic this month with 6,373 views. We had some must-read stories that are definitely worth a view. We also saw a spike in one of our older blog posts about photographer Jody Horton’s shoot with George and Barbara Bush for Garden & Gun. Garden & Gun shared the post for President’s Day and a huge traffic spike ensued! It was great to see an older post get some love, although Garden & Gun’s viewers did cause a spike in our bounce rate as most were simply reading the post and exiting our site. See our top ten blog posts below, including the pageviews we saw from the Garden & Gun piece:
If you missed reading about some of our photographers’ projects, you can still catch up! And be sure to share your work with us so that we can consider it for the blog. Here are the top five viewed posts from February:
