Emailer: A New Look for Richard Fleischman

It’s been a while since I’ve written about Richard Fleischman, one of our talented member photographers based in Minneapolis, MN. I worked with Rich originally on a new logo and website—which was an absolute pleasure—so I was excited when he contacted me about working together again, this time on an emailer template design.

Rich had a few questions about his options and the process, and rightfully so since there are quite a few things to consider. I explained that a lot of how the design process goes for emailers depends on the email management system you’re planning on using. For most photographers, that means Agency Access or MailChimp. While we’ve seen photographers have success with both email management systems, Richard ultimately decided that he should go forward using MailChimp, since he already had a list of contacts that he wanted to send his emailer to (eliminating the need for Agency Access’ list purchasing service).

Rich was thrilled with the template, saying “I love it, it looks great!”

He decided he’d also like to have a variation of his email template where he could send notes to his past clients as follow-up after working with them, a very nice sentiment which I’m sure goes a long way and keeps him on his clients’ radar. So based on this request, I created a secondary template for these types of notes:

I sent some test emails to Rich and myself, that we both looked at on our computers and phones, just to make sure everything was refined to our standards. Once he approved both templates, Rich was on his way and ready to start dazzling clients and prospects alike via his revamped email marketing.

You can also read a bit more about the differences between the two email management systems in an expert advice article I wrote here. Until next time, don’t forget to check out all of our design consulting services, and drop me a line if you’re interested in a new identity or if you’d like to build out your own brand. We’d love to hear from you!
