In the month of July, our website saw exactly 24,000 (yep, right on the dot) sessions from 17,118 users, up significantly from June, which recorded 20,566 sessions from 14,542 users. After looking at the numbers, there’s a few factors that play into that increase. For one, we were hiring for a few positions this month, and we drew a large audience from the job postings. Secondly, we had a couple of very popular blog posts (ahem, you’re welcome) that bumped our numbers. Lastly, our Facebook ad campaign, targeted at advertising and editorial clients aged 21-60, had a high click-through rate, so we gained a lot of new users right from our ad. Check out the geography statistics for the month of July below. As usual, the US brought the most users, followed by the UK, Canada, China and Russia. We’re happy to see the international engagement, but we’re hoping that next month, our number of users from China and Russia are a bit lower on the list. As you can see in the graphic, the bounce rate for both countries was pretty high, meaning that a significant number of visitors were probably referral bots. I talked at length about bots in last month’s post and spent a good bit of time this month trying to rid them from our analytics. Hopefully, we’ll see that reflected in August’s numbers!

The staggering 1,200 views on the blog post about Bobby Bruderle’s photos of G-Eazy (number 2 on the list above) were mostly due to the famous rapper sending out a tweet about the post:
