While they weren’t planning their Halloween costumes and eating too much candy, our Associate Producers were hard at work doing research and making connections with prospects throughout October!
Julia began the month leading the outreach efforts for both agencies and brands. With a total of 73 outreach attempts, Julia was able to make 6 connections. We had some successes this month with our stock requests, which Julia manages, with a few member photographers licensing content for GQ Style and AFAR Media. Julia also produced a shoot with member photographer Alberto Oviedo in Brooklyn at the beginning of the month with Iris Agency out of Atlanta. In between consulting projects and stock requests, Julia was able to make a few connections with Zubi Advertising Services, John Hopkins University, and Amnesty International.
Will Garcia, Print Producer at Zubi Advertising Services, replied to Julia’s email saying:
Hola Julia. My apologies, I was traveling for some time, and back this week you can imagine how full my plate must be. Your work and roster of talent looks amazing and from the client list on your portfolio it seems you guys have been very busy. Although we just got done with some production, there’s always great projects that surface out of the blue. Please allow me a few weeks to gather info on what’s planned ahead for year-end work, and maybe we could come up with something that might fit us best to work together. I’ll be leaving again next week, but this time on vacation… Let’s touch base again the first week of November, yes?
Our resident portfolio events planner Matt has continued his push to get our members’ portfolios in front of quality clients. He made 135 calls and sent 149 emails, resulting in 9 phone connections. This landed him 3 portfolio events and a production capabilities call for our executive producers in November.
On the research side of things for October, Sankha evaluated 232 new companies that would be useful prospects for our member photographers and also for Wonderful Machine’s shoot production services. Of the 232 companies, 173 were agencies, 47 were brands, and 18 were production resources that would help other aspects of our business such as shoot production and consulting services. He added a whopping 416 new contacts to our database, 163 to existing companies in our database and 250 to accompany the new companies.
Sankha’s other projects for the month included reviewing the available resources and databases for locating brand and agency prospects and scanning our internal databases to make sure all prospect emails remain accurate. He has also been optimizing a system of evaluating brand prospects more effectively, matching our photographers’ specialties with industry categories that pertain to companies.
Associate Producer Claire had been helping out in the Publicity department for the last few months and made her way back to our bullpen for the last week of October. With her feet in both departments, Claire split her time between finishing up emailers and making calls to publications like The Chicago Tribune and Drew University Magazine to promote our roster of photographers. With a total of 19 calls, plus 19 emails, and two notable connections, Claire is back in business promoting our photographers.
Now that October is behind us and the cold weather approaches, the team is getting ready to hunker down and keep making excellent connections in November.
