For January’s print mailer, we chose a fitting image for this chilly East Coast winter. The photo below, by Anchorage-based photographer Nathaniel Wilder, was taken as part of a personal project in interior Alaska. We paired the stunning photo with the tagline Let’s Chill, sent out to 2,988 creatives (printed by Modern Postcard) as a reminder of all of our services.
Nathaniel was kind enough to give us some info on how the photo came about:
The photo is included as part of a personal project I’m working on about cold. It was taken in -32 degrees F in interior Alaska right after the shortest day of the year. We had skied 11 miles into a private hot springs right after Christmas and enjoyed shaping our hair in the extreme cold and letting it freeze in place as we sat in the hot springs. This photograph- a take on American gothic (or “arctic gothic”) grew out of messing around with this cold-shaping.
