While creating a new portfolio book, Jess Williams realized he needed a fresh Wordmark to tie his brand together. The Nashville-based photographer contacted Lindsay Thompson, who gave Jess a plethora of options to choose from after researching a number of fonts.
Jamey Guy is one of our awesome member photographers based in Minneapolis. He and I first started collaborating way back in 2014 on some elaborate promo ideas, but after some discussion and exploration we decided that—first and foremost—his branding and website needed some work.
Recently I had the pleasure of working with both Melanie and David of David Meaux Photography, a DC based photography team. After switching from shooting primarily food to focusing more on architecture and interiors, the Meauxs’ were looking for a new updated mark that spoke more to their new body of work.
After digesting our analysis and advice, Scott decided to move forward with several of our consulting services: a Logo Refinement, Web Edit, Web Template Customization, (and later on) Print Edit and Emailer Design. I teamed up with our senior photo editor Sean Stone to get the job done, and I got to work on Scott’s logo while Sean tackled the web edit.
Our new identity and website have been a year in the making—a year full of tough questions, bold decisions and a hearty helping of collaboration. We’re infinitely thrilled to share our new look with you.

Hillary’s existing logo was bright in color but didn’t have the distinction and fun, free-flowing feel that her images and personality embody so well. So, to start off, Hillary gave me some color inspiration. Having grown up on the water, Hillary loves aquatic-looking schemes, and with her cool, free-flowing mannerisms it made perfect sense as a palette.
Thomas Strand, a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in Minneapolis, came to Wonderful Machine looking for a new graphic identity, hoping to elevate his brand and bring in more of the sophisticated work he was looking for. I used his existing logo to create the appropriate stationary needed to fulfill his package.
