Nothing says summer like shores, good friends, and a crisp glass of wine. Kendall Jackson, a winery out of Sonoma County, incorporates all of these things into its recent ad campaign, shot by San Francisco-based commercial photographer Matt Sartain. The campaign showcases people trekking wine country, while the website encourages “ideas to get outside with friends this spring.” Of course, the constant factor in each ad is the subjects’ good friend Kendall Jackson.
The fact that all four of the ads were pulled off in one day presented the only challenge for Matt. He prepared the backgrounds for approval ahead of time, and when it came down to the shoot day he had to organize three different locations and about 30 talent throughout San Francisco:
There was a ton of pre pro involved because we had to build all the backgrounds and get them approved by the client before shoot day, get all the talent, wardrobe and props picked out and schedule it all down to the minute because of how much shooting we had to do. It was a very ambitious shoot day, but luckily all the planning paid off and it all came together without a hitch.
