Chris Sorensen: In Old New York

BY Wonderful Machine 21 January 2015
Published, Photographer Spotlight

Until recently, out of all of the amazing places that travel photographer Chris Sorensen has documented, there was still one place he had yet to shoot a story on: his home base of New York City. He finally crossed the Big Apple off his list last month with an eye-opening feature for British magazine Club Life.

For the feature, Chris shot multiple locations around New York, including the skyline, diners, food carts and the Manhattan Bridge. Club Life did an extensive interview with Chris about the feature, in which he explains why this particular project was meaningful for him:

It made me look at my city in a new light. When you live in a certain place, you take it so much for granted. And you don’t go out and shoot the things that are amazing to other people because it’s there every day for you. It’s not as special until you really think about it and have the opportunity as I did on this shoot.
