Come In from The Cold

BY Wonderful Machine 8 December 2008
Published, Photographer Spotlight

As the weather gets downright nasty, this picture reminded us of the value of home, and warmth. And Wonderful Machine’s architectural photographer Trent Bell, of Portland, Maine, does an excellent job of making every home he shoots into a peaceful oasis.

Photo by Trent Bell of a snow covered house in the blue of the early morning.

Trent shot this at dawn, which sounds early enough. Until he mentions that he and his crew arrived at 5:00 AM to set up their gear! A 2:45 wake-up call on a frosty, 15-degree Sunday morning like this must have been a joy.

But architectural photography has been a labor of love for Bell, who has a master’s in Architecture and even practiced for several years before getting the “bug” to photograph.

His love for the subject matter is apparent in his work, in both his interior and exterior photography:

Photo of a house with an open yard lined with a short wall of rocks.
Photo of a bright corner of a room with a chair between a table and a vase beside a photo of a bright bedroom lit by windows.
Photo of a driveway leading to a large house overlooking the sea.

Check out more of Trent Bell’s work on his website.
