Salvador, Brazil-based photographer Uiler Costa was contacted by the art director of National Geographic Traveller UK after being discovered on Wonderful Machine. The publication was putting together a Brazil feature for the May 2018 issue.
Uiler was asked to retrace the writer’s steps and gather images along the way that would contribute to the story. He had 4 weeks turnaround time to shoot and submit a hi-res edited set. The photos were featured throughout the five-page spread with the Brazil feature, which you can read here.
This assignment was amazing. Imagine working in paradise.. it was better than that! I was alone on the mission but I found a lot of help on the way – it was rewarding.
