On Tuesday, April 28, we started our “Unfiltered” show on Instagram Live. The series airs each week and showcases the work of one of our member photographers, who also discusses what they’ve been up to during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our first guest was Nashville-based Abigail Bobo and, if our conversation was any indication, she’s as busy as ever!
Across our nearly-half hour discussion, we chatted about Abigail’s recent trip to Iceland for AirBnB, talked about the challenges related to compiling smaller crews during the COVID era, and highlighted the Tennessean’s online class that’s geared toward helping young photographers with the business aspect of the discipline.
Truth be told, we could’ve spoken for hours about that and much more — Abigail is a treasure trove of information and a sweetheart to boot! Not only that, but she’s a damn talented photographer. Aside from traveling to Iceland, Abigail recently did a local shoot for AARP, culling imagery of her neighbors (at a safe distance, of course!) for the company.
The meat of our conversation, however, came via our talks on Abigail’s set of classes for up-and-coming photographers. The courses cover everything from getting started in commercial photography to setting up Zoom calls with clients ahead of a COVID-restricted shoot. You can learn more on the class’ website.
We look forward to continuing our weekly IG Live conversations every Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. If you can’t view the discussion live, check our YouTube page or our COVID-19 Resources page to get the link to the recorded videos.
