I have been photographing architecture and interiors for over twenty years and have worked with many of the industry's most distinguished architects and designers. As a visual storyteller, my objective is to distill the essence of the spatial experience with photographs that encourage the viewer to stop, reflect, and respond to the project, appreciating not only its visual presence but also how it relates to its environment and the beings that interact with it. I work primarily with natural light but pivot to a highly crafted cinematic lighting approach when stylistically appropriate. I have contributed to Architectural Digest, Interior Design, and many other international design publications and books. Thank you for taking the time to explore my work.

Growing up in a central Pennsylvania rural farm community, I was surrounded by mountains and fields, not a lot of architecture or design. Very common central Pennsylvania farm and coal community homes and design. From a young age I always had a fascination with drawing and seeing things in a unique way. I also loved building and creating things with my hands. All the while following my Dad around the yard with a saw, hammer, and plastic push mower was a common thing. As I grew, my interests turned to more creative aspects and included drafting, and being an integral part of my schools’ arts department. It’s there where my love for design and photography opened up. Once I enrolled in art school, at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, my love and passion for photography took hold. After becoming establishing in the wedding and portrait photography business, I branched out to discover new areas of photography. It was then, that I rediscovered my love for design and architecture. I am always looking and studying; books, buildings and designers. It’s not uncommon to see me scouring through interior design and architectural magazines for new and interesting ideas on how to see space in our three-dimensional world. I love collaborating with other creatives, designers, architects and engineers. To me collaboration is a must in the creative process as it can help in solving problems in the moment.

Jeffrey Totaro has had a life-long interest in design and construction. Before becoming a photographer, he worked as an architect and structural engineer for a prominent Philadelphia firm. During his education and early career, his strong interest in design was coupled with an interest in photographing architecture and interiors. A self-taught photographer, Jeffrey transitioned to professional photography in 1996 and has since built an impressive portfolio of commercial, residential, and institutional photography for leading firms in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Washington DC and elsewhere around the country. Jeffrey’s education and professional experience as an architect and engineer make him well-suited to photograph the built environment. His photographs capture design intent, structural complexity, and architectural detail to best illustrate each projects significance. He values a collaborative relationship with clients and considers it an essential part of the process for successful photography. Responsive and understanding, Jeffrey’s patience and commitment to capturing the essence of a design is evident in the images he produces. His meticulous attention to detail throughout the photographic process includes advance scouting of locations, careful arrangement of views for elegant and clean compositions, technical proficiency and creativity in the appropriate use of lighting, and the latest in high-resolution digital technology.

Steve’s been interested in photography since he was 14. While working at 7-Eleven stocking shelves, he spotted the label on the back of a roll of Kodak film which read, “Take this film to your Kodak processor or develop it yourself using Kodak chemistry.” Immediately he thought, “You mean you can do that?” And he was hooked. In the years since, he’s photographed everything from mummies to machine guns. He’s shot in lots of places he’s fond of, a few he’d like to forget (the blast freezer comes to mind), and all the while finding new ways to capture the beauty of the world. Steve lives on Maryland's Eastern Shore with his family and a scruffy Jack Russell

I'm a Detroit based photographer interested in digging into everyday situations and coming out with compelling stories. I love visually showcasing the world in the most objective and truthful way possible, while retaining a tinge of optimism and humor. Photography has allowed me to travel extensively: studying in Paris at Spéos Photographic Institute, photographing wind turbine technicians in Oregon for Siemens Wind Power, and spending half of 2013 in Lagos, Nigeria working with The African Artists' Foundation and LagosPhoto. I am available for hire for editorial, portrait, and reportage work.
I am a location photographer that has specialized in advertising, golf, and marketing photography for the past 20 years. We have worked with Marketing Directors, Creative Directors, Director of Golf, and Graphic Designers alike throughout the years to create targeted and alluring brochures, campaigns, and signature shots. Our lifestyle, architecture, and landscape shots stop people amongst the glut of photos across the internet. Uniquely, I scout all my own locations. This valuable pre-production understanding of planning and coordination is what enables me to land at a new job site and prepare a detailed production schedule for the upcoming shoot. It also allows for the right lighting, props and talent to be ready for each and every scene captured on a given day. This enables me to shoot more in a long day of photography from first light until the day’s end, sometimes long after dark, making the most of your time and resources.

I don’t enjoy talking or writing about myself; I like my photographs to do that for me. Yet I know it is helpful for those reviewing my body of work to know a little about me and how I approach my profession. The photo I’ve elected to include of me is from my first visit to Poland at the age of 10. My Ciocia Nusia bought me my first camera, igniting a curiosity that has matured over time and experience but remains the cornerstone of my approach to my work. Photography has provided me with the opportunity to work with subjects and attend events that I would otherwise have missed, thereby enriching my professional and personal lives. I love the creative side of photography and each year complete independent photographic projects so I continue to learn and never become complacent. My goal is to help such organizations develop their voice. When working with clients, I firmly believe collaboration is important to ensure the product is of the highest quality, meets the clients’ needs and desires, and is delivered in a timely manner. No matter what size a project is, I pride myself in doing whatever it takes to get a great product. My clients range from Loyola Hospital, BusinessWeek, DDB, Supercuts, Northwestern University, Forbes, Follett of Higher Learning, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, BlackWell Consulting, First Health, Harley Davidson, GTCR, Simple Truth, Allstate and Apple, Inc.
My work spans many different genres – from shooting people to focusing on things we wear, the things we eat, to the places we live, to the things we love, and the things we crave. I love to capture it all. People ask me to help them tell stories through a lens. I can do that – I love it. I spend my time shooting in and out my studio, and traveling when requested. I travel for fun when I can because i believe personal time is essential. I prefer to be outside. I try to surround myself with good hearts. I love all kinds of music. I like pretending that I can play guitar. I often find myself staring in awe at my boys. I think my wife is cool as hell. Having grown up 3 blocks from Lambeau Field, I will always bleed green and gold. I will always have dogs. I love video games but never play. I will always want birds in my house but will never have one as it would make me sad. I want my boys to be older for certain things but I don't ever really want them to grow up. I will probably never be satisfied with my landscaping and garden. I will always want the feeling of a workout without any of the exercise. I will always cringe at the act of explaining myself and then end up rambling on and on and on and on and on…….
If Chad’s photography had a trait it would probably be labeled optimistic. Chad looks to capture the beautiful, the good in the world around us, and the people in it. It could be a pleasant smile, time shared between friends, the solace of a place. “I am a photographer because I want to create, share, elevate the production, and collaborate with others who have creative ideas. I photograph because it's my way of telling the story.” Chad continues to create content for national brands as well as many local and editorial clients. He lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife and 3 children.
At Dean Lavenson Photography, Dean brings an utter passion to the set. He is a master with light and an absolute perfectionist. He is as giddy about photography today as when he was a student. And with that passion comes with over 25 years of experience. After graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography and freelancing in L.A. for a few years, Dean relocated his family from Santa Barbara, California to Louisville in 1989. He’s still trying to figure out how that happened. All he remembers is a big yellow Ryder truck with a matching yellow ’73 VW Bug in tow and his wife, Dianne, crying across every state line. Dean still dreams about the beach, but over the years he’s grown to love Louisville. As for how Dean first got started with a camera? Now that’s a long story. Let’s just say, he was on his way to becoming the next Wynton Marsellis. Lucky for Mr. Marsellis, Dean ended up in Beginning Photography as a high school senior. Ask him in person and he’ll give you the looooong version.
Richard’s love for photography is deeply rooted in his childhood. Although his father worked as a mining engineer in Eschweiler, Germany, he also created images of Europe’s most beautiful places, from the Italian Dolomites and Austrian Alps to the Italian Mediterranean coast. The father’s passion became the son’s dream. At age 17, Richard decided the best way to become a professional photographer would be to move overseas and get a college education in America. He immigrated first to Huntington, West Virginia, where he attended his senior year of high school; after graduation, he moved to Florida and attended the Photography Institute at Daytona State College. After college, Richard continued his education and further developed his craft with several acclaimed Florida-based photographers. He immersed himself in architectural, hospitality and marine photography and went on to form his own business in 2002. He operated Richard Steinberger Photography in Door County, Wisconsin, and Denver, Colorado, before relocating to Beaufort, South Carolina, in 2020. In the last two decades, Richard has become one of the world’s top marine photographers. His clients include some of the most most iconic brands in recreational boating, including Sea Ray, Boston Whaler and Chris-Craft. He also has worked with prominent clients in architectural design, travel/tourism and hospitality. When not working on national and international commercial projects, Richard spends his time working on film productions, most notably “Waniyetu Wowapi (Winter Count).” This documentary film — commissioned by the nonprofit Cheyenne River Youth Project on the South Dakota’s Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation — won a Social Impact Award at the 2022 Latino & Native American Film Festival inStamford, Connecticut. Richard lives in Beaufort with his wife, Heather, daughter, Johanna, and Great Pyrenees, Kaya. When not he’s busy telling stories, he can be found on his classic motor launch Mach Buffett, exploring the Lowcountry’s tidal rivers, salt marshes and sandbars.

As a fifth generation photographer, it is no surprise that Nick’s passion for photography originated at a young age. Growing up in home inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, Nick quickly learned the importance of natural light and the impact it has not only with photography, but the architecture it touches as well. It’s all in the details. What our eye sees is not always what the camera captures. With more than 10 years of design experience, Katja brought a new division to the studio with Staging and Styling. Professional styling helps to capture the perfect shot of an interior that celebrates its best features, textures and talking points. Whether working locally or traveling nationwide, McGinn Photography brings their expertise and artistic vision everywhere they go resulting in stunning and visually striking imagery that captures the unique characteristics and design of each project.
Adam Goldberg is one of the premier Atlanta architectural and interior design photographers based in Atlanta, GA. During Adam’s years of traveling the world for multiple organizations such as The Department of Defense and Deloitte Consulting, he discovered a passion for photographing the places that he visited. After obtaining his Master’s in Business Administration he launched his photography career with a focus on interior and exterior spaces as he has always had an eye for architecture. Photography is the perfect mixture of science, art, and creativity for Adam’s innovative and imaginative mind. Adam uses both natural and artificial light to capture the essence of a property or room. All of his images are crafted with an eye on creating a realistic representation that transports the viewer to the space. When he’s not photographing an architectural wonder or flying his drone, Adam can be found capturing landscape and travel images around the world…or with his feet in the sand, a little bit of hot sauce, and some Jimmy Buffett music in the background.
