Analytics data for March 2018 show an overall increase in visitors from the same period last year, with 20,591 sessions from 15,203 users. This increase represents a 16% increase in users and a 5% increase in sessions. We did see an overall decrease in sessions per user, overall pageviews (61,413 vs. 73,076 last year), and session duration that suggests certain popular pages, such as Expert Advice: Writing a Photographer Bio, are increasing traffic from audiences outside Wonderful Machine’s core audience of art buyers.
Breakdown by country continues to show the United States in the lead with 64% of visitors, 1006 of which are located in New York. The UK (5.8%), Canada (4.2%), India (4%), and Germany (1.9%) fill out the top 5.
Photographer search results were down from 10,460 in 2017 to 8,628 this period. Although the total number of searches was down, this does reflect a similar percentage of overall traffic (14.05% this period vs. 14.31% last year). Profile views are similarly down to 15,235 (average 22.2 views/member) from 20,054 last year, but clickthrough rates are up to 46% (7,055 clickthroughs – an average of 10.3 per member) over 43% (8,666 clicks) last year. Our most popular profiles are William DeShazer with 133 views, followed by Richard Schmon and Tropico Photo with 42 and 37 views, respectively.
Our Member Blog received 10,057 views this month, a 17% increase over the previous year, led by our Expert Advice article on the Photographer’s Bio (2,345 pageviews). The Client Blog received 5,600 views, a 17% decrease over the previous year. Our top three posts are below:
