Earlier this year, Julien McRoberts came to us with a project covering an iconic subject: Route 66. Julien began documenting the Main Street of America—one of the country’s original highways—a few years ago for a tourism project. Once she got started, she was hooked, and eventually amassed a large amount of photos from the drive.
Julien wanted to turn this mass of US 66 pictures into Print Promo, and there was a great opportunity in the source material: postcards. I gathered some examples of original postcards one could purchase along Route 66, and pitched Julien the concept. She was sold, and we set to work.
After creating a targeted marketing list, we sent out an email with a sneak peek of what the final project would contain. Of those who opened the emailer, 95 were sent a package of postcards containing a series of images from the historic highway.
Julien was kind enough to share her experience with the project:
It was wonderful to collaborate with Amanda on the marketing project, she instantly got the character and funky vibe of Route 66. From the layout to the final product, every detail fit right into the theme. Amanda even managed to find a vintage inspired stamp of Arizona which completed the look on the mailers. I really love how the whole project turned out.
