Emailer Template: Tina Boyadjieva

BY Lindsay Thompson 26 January 2021
Intel, Case Studies, Marketing

Tina Boyadjieva is a top-notch fashion photographer based in Manhattan who wanted to find a way to connect and maintain relationships with potential and established clients. And as she learned more about email marketing, she came to us to build a template for all of her future newsletters. Tina was in search of a simple yet sleek design to display her vertical portraits and fashion photos. After showing a few past emailers to gauge her likes and dislikes, I dove into the first round.

The first step in our emailer template is to design a few variations based on the photographer’s aesthetic and their chosen work examples. Think of those examples like a reference photo you give to the barber/hairdresser before they cut your hair.

Option one is a combination of a large header photo, followed by Tina’s message, and a set of four staggered photos. This creates a balanced look between photo and text and shows some variety with the placement’s bottom images. Option two adds the text right into the photo display for a seamlessly integrated message. Option three adds some extra elements, including a neutral color block.

After some review, option one was the clear winner — the only note was to add an underline under her name to match Tina’s current branding.

Because Tina planned to send these emailers out to individual prospects, she decided to skip the Email Service Provider. The next challenge was to find a way to integrate this emailer into her email as well as we could. We decided that saving the whole template as one image was the best way to display the email. We found that an emailer that was 600px wide was the perfect size to show the photos’ quality without looking too big in anyone’s inbox.

Finally, with instructions included, I made an easily editable template on Photoshop. This gives Tina all the tools to customize each announcement before adding it right to her Gmail account. Below, you’ll see how Tina easily swapped in her own images for future email blasts.

With compelling images and a clear idea of what she wanted her emailer to convey, Tina was great to work with; we accomplished this project in record time and have her set up and ready to contact her dream clients.
