Our postcard promotions are not like all the others. In fact, more than the static sterility of paper, our postcards resemble the fleeting sweetness of the pear, the hearty nourishment of the winter squash, and the crisp bite of the cranberry. In other words, our postcards have a profound seasonal beauty.

Sophie Pangrazzi seasonal fall forest postcard

Like the vegetation named above, this postcard is imbued with the flavors of fall. Bringing you this elusive magic is Seattle-based photographer Sophie Pangrazzi, whose inspiration came from the passage of nature through time.

The idea first came from looking at the backyard of a friend in the fall. I loved the white Birch trees and the color of the leaves. I wanted to realize something innocent and in harmony with the surroundings.

This image, taken in Mercer Island, WA, is carefully constructed. The small space produced a greater depth;

It was a small triangle of 8×10 feet, in photography it looked like a deep forest, but it was only the little outdoor stage of a forest.

Though the leaves had already graced the ground, the model’s presence was composited from several shots to ensure perfect composition. The model was chosen to represent an adolescent dream, but no less for her hair, which fell perfectly in front of the trees.
